Reiki lives with me and walks alongside me as my best friend. I discovered Reiki after the death of my mother; the healing helped me to release the pain and to adapt to the loss. During my study of Reiki I have also become interested in Shamanism and practice soul retrievals, shamanic journeys and space clearing. I have learnt how simple and enjoyable it is to create sacred space within my environment and to devote small amounts of space to make simple alters within the home. These places quickly become areas of tranquillity and serenity.

I have studied yoga since my teens and practice mediation daily. Along with self healing these short rituals can easily be included in the busiest of days and help me to achieve all I need to. I enjoy passing on the gift of healing. Reiki is an energy available to all; it just needs a “channel” through which to flow. What can it do for others?

Reiki is a Universal Energy – it will go where it is needed and there are no barriers to its comfort. Reiki healing can be a very spiritual experience for some, for others it will cause a sense of relaxation and wellbeing. Recipients often find sleep easier after healing and find that stress is lessened. Reiki Healing works at all levels of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual problems. Reiki is a complete complimentary therapy as it will work alongside any other method of healing whether complimentary or orthodox. Reiki will put the world to rights and encourage feelings of peace and tranquillity which is our natural way to be. Reiki will put back what the day takes out. Reiki can help with making decisions and take the stress out of change.

Reiki is energy. It has been described as an unseen spiritual power that can reconnect the body with the Universal Source of light and love. “This power is unfathomable, immeasurable, and being a universal life force it is incomprehensible to man. Reiki is a safe and practical treatment, and may be given to children, animals and plants. It is complimentary to all medical practices. Most people experience a deep sense of peace and relaxation during the treatment. A standard Reiki treatment will take approximately one hour. The client remains clothed at all times, only removing shoes and loosening any tight clothing. The healing takes the form of the practitioner placing their hands along the body, starting at the head and working along to the feet. Both the front and the back of the body are treated. The introductory session is suitable for all clients. 3 x standard healing sessions are usually most beneficial for all conditions followed by short healing sessions when necessary to “top up” energy. If time and money are short then short healing sessions will still be beneficial for anyone who needs it. For insurance purposes it is necessary to keep details of name, address, and date of birth on record. All client notes are kept confidential. A report of each healing is sent to the client within one week of the treatment. Clients are recommended to inform their GP of any healing. Children must have written permission from their GP before treatment. Pets must have written permission for their Veterinary Surgeon before treatment.

Reiki is taught on 3 levels: 1st Degree, 2nd Degree and Master * What I offer as a Reiki master includes the following: Reiki may be taught individually or in small groups. Each Reiki teaching session includes individual attunement. Follow-up and refresher sessions Support and guidance will always be available Support groups open to all Reiki students Meditation groups, chakra alignment, workshops and retreats.

Reiki may be incorporated into a holiday or retreat in Riverside Cottage, Roadwater. A two bedroom, self contained holiday home set in peaceful grounds by the side of a small stream. I also work with other local therapists and teachers. Workshops are organised for subjects including Gabrielle Roth 5 rhythm dance, chakras and yoga, meditation and Shamanic journeying, animal communication and healing.
